Solar Panel System Created with Glass Tiles

Solar Panel System Created with Glass Tiles

Tiles are now preferred not only for covering roofs, but also for projects to benefit from solar energy. Using a combination of traditional roofing and solar voltaic, the Swedish energy company's glass tile solution applies glass tiles over high-efficiency, monocrystalline solar panels to generate electricity. Protected against damage and theft, the strategic installation uses power from the sun and captures the backlog with the buildings' existing heating system, often via a storage tank. As a result, the system can provide hot water and heating for most of the year.

Specially designed absorbers, through which liquids circulate, are mounted inside the glass roof tiles. Absorbers are placed on the insulating layer to prevent heat and losses.

Glass roof tiles are made of highly transparent glass with a low level of iron oxide. The installation is done with double S profile tiles, very similar to the traditional concrete tiles used in the north and other countries.
