“Roof Tiles Lamp” Brings Architecture into the House

“Roof Tiles Lamp” Brings Architecture into the House

The bays of Portuguese cities offer breathtaking views and make up some of the most popular spots for tourists. Some details offer a perspective that attracts observers' attention. For example, roofs in historical districts are a prominent feature of country architecture as a result of complex urbanization. They come in many forms, but generally all consist of inclined planes of ceramic modules.

For the “Roof Tiles Lamp” project, Luis Nascimento designed a lamp by imitating the style of tiles and made the roof, which is one of the main elements in architecture, suitable for use in houses.

The sheet was bent and covered with treated felt to refer to the semi-cylindrical building block. As a result, the comfort and protection ideas that functioned in the large-scale construction of the house were recreated with the "Roof Tiles Lamp".
